Louis Nkrumah is a brilliant solar pathfinder and solar workforce visionary. He has produced new jobs and careers for local governments and communities for the past nine years at Eferon Solar School. A long-time leading advocate of sustainability and mitigating climate warming, Louis is expanding Eferon Solar services globally to help businesses everywhere reduce climate impacts.
It is my great pleasure to explore solar leadership with Louis Nkrumah today.
Mary Olson: Please give us a window into your early insights to start a Solar Workforce Training School, as climate change mitigation is an increasing concern.
Louis Nkrumah: Since 2012, when the talks on climate change and its effect started getting louder, Eferon Solar Solutions was born as a visioner seeking to reskill a workforce to fill the enormous demand created by the renewal energy industry. Eferon Solar Solutions has since been committed to creating courses/ programs to produce technicians with exceptional knowledge and expertise. Our goal is to elevate our client students' knowledge and skill sets beyond the entry-level stage, where they can advance through the industry and become pacesetters themselves.
Mary Olson: Many great innovators and leaders have had breakthrough experiences that formed and influenced entire industries during their careers. How did your instincts and experience lead to launching Eferon Solar School?
Louis Nkrumah: The demand for skilled workers was high, but there weren't many training centers. Eferon stepped up against all to become one of the few training centers that qualified their clients to sit for the NABCEP credentials. We train all our clients for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Associate and professional license exams.
Mary Olson: How do Business Citizenship and Sustainability play a role in your business?
Louis Nkrumah: At Eferon Solar Solutions, we stand by the principle model that inherently enables business citizenship and sustainability. Most all leaders have transitioned from corporate Social Responsibility models (CSR) to business citizenship. Companies like ours take responsibility for creating and supporting higher standards to protect our planet while remaining profitable.
We process reasonable steps so we can continue to grow as social, cultural, and environmental business citizenship leaders. Sustainability is critical for the well-being of the global community, and the companies we engage have been shifting to sustainability modules rapidly.
Eferon Solar as a responsible business citizen, has evolved a healthy and systematic circular economy that helps communities where the solar workforce lives and works. Our impact has contributed to the benefits of individuals and their families, government agencies, business partners, and society. As a training provider, we continuously improve our services to reach a broader community to impact a much-needed global effort to help curb the impact of environmental depletion caused by global warming.
Mary Olson: The local community knows EFERON SOLAR SOLUTIONS as the solar educational institute supporting government job placement and career-building. You have pivoted the firm in 2022 to engage the business world. Tell us about your upscaling plans and what they mean to solar businesses everywhere.
Louis Nkmurah: Eferon Solar is continuously inspired by serving our community and the business world. Our focus remains on the student's well-being and success which is a direct implementation of our mission statement. "Helping our students through innovative education and empowering them to stay competitive in the workplace."
Our growth strategies involve the following:
Upskilling our facility.
Innovating our operations with newer technology.
Marketing to a broader spectrum of outreach.
Our unique connected network benefits the industry. We recognize a large industry gap in workers at solar installation firms without credentials, and we like to bridge that gap by creating certified workers. A trained solar workforce can help reduce liabilities and inefficiencies throughout the industry.
Mary Olson: I have talked to many readers, and they want to help. How can readers engage and help support Eferon Solar School's mission and commitment to a sustainable world?
Louis Nkmurah: The massive effect of global warming is inevitably everyone's responsibility and business. We could promote awareness and conserving energy, unplugging equipment when not in use, planning to purchase a hybrid or an electric car, and, where possible, investing in a solar power system for your home and business. You may also help underserved communities by donating tuition scholarships for solar training here at Eferon Solar School for those students in great need of financial assistance.
Mary Olson: Thank you, Louis, for your insightful leadership and pioneering efforts to produce an educated, certified solar workforce. I hope our readers will recognize the value of Eferon Solar School and step up to support your critical work, the communities you serve, and for caring about future generations.
